I went hiking again today - this time up on Chinook Pass. I seem to have reached another milestone on the "Things I Never Thought I'd Do" list -- using OFF! bug repellent as perfume after the hike, prior to going out for dinner!! In my defense, it was the orange bottle and it does smell pretty good. I'm still shaking my head over that one!

Last weekend I enjoyed a beautiful weekend playing (kayaking, hiking) in Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana. I have always wanted to see Many Glacier, which is sometimes described as America's Alps. there are more pictures available if you follow my link over there (-->) that takes you to my Webshots. Great news - not one blister despite wearing brand new shoes! I even hiked through a waterfall - not just behind it or far enough in front of it to avoid getting wet -- nope, right through it because there was a steep dropoff in front of it, so we all got drenched, but it was 95+ degrees so it actually felt good once we were out of it! My hair was ruined by that's what hats are for! :-)

San Francisco / San Jose / Sunnyvale I took a spur-of-the-moment trip to California last weekend to see my cousin Nate. It was fun seeing the city again as a grown up and the one particular draw, since he lives so close to it, was to see the Winchester Mansion. Another highlight was seeing the Google campus - sorry, I didn't have my camera along that day. We did the usual touristy things, thanks in part to our helpful GPS system, which I named Priscilla. She got a bit prissy from time to time! There are a ton of pictures so I will post them at community.webshots.com/user/upsadaz

Pictures from my trip to Mexico.... I just got back last night. Great time -- stayed at Mayan Palace, between Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos. The water there was beautiful! I went "snuba" diving (mix of snorkeling and scuba), snorkled, acted like I was on a jumbo rotisserie (flipping every so often so I didn't get overly "done" on any one side), and read a book or two. The pools were simply beautiful. Many had infinity edges. You could walk from one to another and spend all day doing it. XCaret was great - I highly recommend their Xpa (spa) for massages!!! Pure bliss! I loved surprising people by speaking Spanish :-) I'll miss all the flirtaceous mexican guys, but luckily I'm home where there are plenty more :-)
